Pipette Tips Manufacturers describes the pipette sterilization process:
1. If it is a pipette that cannot be sterilized as a whole, first pack the parts that need to be sterilized with a sterilization bag, tin foil or kraft paper, at 121°C, 1 bar atmospheric pressure, for 20 minutes; after the sterilization is completed, completely dry it at room temperature Once dry, oil the piston before proceeding to assembly.
2. If it is a pipette that can be sterilized as a whole, you can place the whole pipette at 121°C and 1 bar of air pressure for 20 minutes of high temperature and high-pressure disinfection of the whole pipette.
3. If some pipettes cannot be sterilized by high temperature and high pressure, but need to be used for some special operations, such as RNA extraction, etc., if you are worried that the pipette will be contaminated and affect the experimental results, then clean the pipette with 75% ethanol head of the device. If it is used to extract RNA, use 75% ethanol without RNase contamination. Note: The half-sterilized pipette cannot be sterilized as a whole, otherwise, the number part of the reading will change color, and the reading will be inaccurate and have other obvious phenomena.
